DUSHANBE, February 15, 2011, Asia-Plus -- State-run fairs that took place at Dushanbe’s bazaars of Panjsher, Ganjina and Sakhovat last weekends offered more than 1.2 million young plants, according to the Ministry of MoA.
Narzullo Dadabooyev, a spokesman for a MoA, the fairs were organized by the ministry on the threshold of the greening season in the country.
“In all, 810,000 fruit seedlings, 313,000 seedlings of decorative trees and 86,700 sprouts have been offered at the fairs,” the spokesman said.
In 2010, farmers laid out new gardens on 13,600 hectares and new vineyards on more than 1,100 hectares. Tajik farmers are expected to plant new gardens and vineyards on 50,000 hectares during 2010-2014, the spokesman said.
