KHUJAND, February 25, 2011, Asia-Plus  - Joint-stock company (JSC) Assor, the solvent-extraction plant in Konibodom, plans to purchase a modern oil-extracting line from China in order to improve quality of cooking (cotton) oil it produces.

The source at the plant administration says they are currently conducting negotiations with Chinese equipment suppliers.  “The new line will allow producing high-quality cooking oil,” he said.

The plant intends to purchase the equipment from China for a loan that it has received also in this country.  “The first part of the equipment is expected to be delivered to Konibodom in mid-2011 and the line will be introduced into operation at the end of this year,” the source noted.

To-date, Assor has purchased some 600 tons of cotton seeds that are enough for production of 60 tons of cooking oil.  “Only 30 persons now work with Assor but during the campaign their numbers will increase to 100 and they will work in several shifts,” the source added.
