DUSHANBE, March 3, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Iranian exhibition company, Soroush-e Khorasan, plans to organize an exhibition of Tajik goods in Iran, representative of Soroush-e Khorasan, Mohammad Umrani, told Asia-Plus on sidelines of an exhibition dedicated to Mother’s Day that opened in the Tajik capital on March 3.
According to him, the company has offered Tajikistan to organize the exhibition of Tajik goods in one of Iranian cities and the date and the venue for the exhibition will become known in the near future. “Iran is interested in expansion of trade and economic cooperation with Tajikistan,” Mr. Umrani noted.
The exhibition that opened at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe on Thursday is organized by Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in cooperation with Soroush-e Khorasan under support of the Government of Tajikistan. Companies from Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ukraine and Russia as well as Tajik producers are participating in the exhibition.
“Fifteen Iranian companies, branches of three Iranian companies in Tajikistan, seven companies from other companies as well Tajik producers have put on display their products (gift sets for women, perfumery, clothes, souvenirs, jewelry and home appliances) at the fair that will conclude on March 8,” the source at a CCI said.
We will recall that International Women’s Day has been known in Tajikistan as the Day of the Mother since March 2009. Congratulating women on March 8, 2009, President Emomali Rahmon said that International Women''s Day has only been celebrated on March 8 for about 100 years, but that ancient Aryan women -- the ancestors of the Tajiks -- had special days both for mothers, specifically, and for women in general.
