DUSHANBE, March 3, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Prospects of expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan were discussed here at a meeting of Minister of Agriculture Qosim Qosimov with Pakistani Ambassador to Tajikistan Khalid Usman Qaiser, Narzullo Dadaboyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), said.
According to him, the sides reached an agreement on signing of a cooperation agreement between Tajikistan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Pakistan’s Ministry of Industry, Agriculture and Livestock (MINFAL).
In the course of the talks, the sides, in particular, considered issues related to cooperation between the Veterinary Service at Tajik MoA and Pakistan’s Star Laboratories (PVT) Ltd. Pakistan plans to set up the branch of a special veterinary laboratory in Tajikistan, the spokesman said.
Both sides also vowed to boost bilateral cooperation in plant growing, training personnel fro Tajik agrarian sector and launching joint ventures for producing veterinary medicines in Tajikistan.
