DUSHANBE, June 8, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Over the first five months of this year, the state unitary enterprise, Ghushtu Shir (meat and dairy products), has manufactured a total of 103.7 million somoni (equivalent to some US$2.2 million) worth of products, which is 127 percent of the January-May 2010 level or 2.1 million somoni more, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).
The source at a MoEI says the Dushanbe-based dairy and meat enterprises alone have manufactured 9.7 million somoni worth of output over the same five-month period, which is 30 percent, ore more than 2 million somoni, more than in the same period last year.
According to the statistical data from the MoEI, the dairy and meat enterprises in Sughd province have manufactured some 1 million somoni worth of products, the Khatlon dairy and meat enterprises have produced more than 500,000 somoni worth of output and Gorno Badakhshan has manufactured 3,700 somoni worth of dairy and meat products in January-May this year.
