DUSHANBE, July 10, 2014, Asia-Plus -- The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan (MoINT) and India’s Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited (HEC Ltd) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation.

An official source at a MoINT says the document was inked in Dushanbe on July 9 by Mr. Shavkat Bobozoda, Tajik Minister of Industry and New Technologies and Mr. Vishvajit Sahay, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of HEC Ltd.

According to him, the sides expressed mutual interest in establishing cooperation on development of heavy industry and establishment of a cement plant in Tajikistan, projection for exploration of the Ziddi coal deposit and delivery of equipment for coal industry.

The sides also agreed to promote new technologies and equipment as well as support technology development projects, the source said.

Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited or HEC Ltd. is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in India. HEC was established in the year 1958 as one of the largest Integrated Engineering Complex in India.  It manufactures and supplies capital equipments and machineries and renders project execution required for core sector industries.
