DUSHANBE, July 11, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Embassy in Moscow is working on preparing and holding the 3rd Conference of Cooperation between the Regions of Tajikistan and Russia and the 4th Inter-Parliamentary Forum “Russia-Tajikistan: Potential of Interregional Cooperation.”
“Tajik Ambassador to Russia Imomuddin Sattorov on July 10 met with Mr. Vyacheslav Shtyryov, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council (Russia’s upper chamber of parliament), and Ms. Svetlana Ivanova, State Secretary/Deputy Minister for Regional Development, to discuss preparations for the events that will take place in Moscow in October this year,” Mohammad Egamzod, a spokesman for the Tajik Embassy in Moscow, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
The main objective of the forum is in promoting further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the regions of the two countries.
A number of roundtables to discuss priorities of economic cooperation between the regions of Russia and Tajikistan, harmonization of national laws of the two countries, labor migration regulations, and humanitarian cooperation will take place on the sidelines of the forum, Egamzod said.
