DUSHANBE, July 15, 2014, Asia-Plus – In January-June 2014, Tajikistan has produced a total of more than 4.5 billion somoni (equivalent to some 420 million U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to the same period of last year the index of the volume of production of industrial goods has amounted to 102.9 percent.

Processing industry has reportedly accounted for 63.3 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced over the first six months of this year, enterprises producing and distributing electrical power, natural gas and water have accounted for 23.3 percent and mining industry has accounted for 13.4 percent.

Of 1,112 industrial enterprises registered in the country 246 enterprises have not been in operation over the report period. 

Of the 90 basic types of industrial products the output of 32 has increased, and the output of 43 items has decreased over the same six-month period.  Fifteen basic types of industrial products have not been manufactured.
