DUSHANBE, July 15, 2014, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday July 15, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received visiting head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff mission to Tajikistan, Mr. Jonathan Dunn.
According to the president’s official website, the sides discussed issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and the Fund on promoting socioeconomic development of the country.
It was reportedly noted that Tajikistan has always followed IMF’s recommendations while preparing its economic policy.
A special attention was paid to the issues of minimization of external threats to Tajikistan’s economy, including consequences of global crisis on world markets and countries, which are the main trading partners of Tajikistan.
Mr. Jonathan Dunn noted that the Fund would continue providing assistance to Tajikistan with carrying out economic reforms.
