The new terminal of Dushanbe International Airport will be opened on 3 September in the President’s presence.
Mahmadyousuf Shadiev, the DIA Spokesperson, told Asia-Plus that the ceremony will also be attended by the French Embassy representatives, as well as the Vinci S.A. Company, which engaged in the terminal’s erection.
It was planned that the terminal will be handed for use in December 2014, but the work was going ahead of schedule, and it was decided to open the terminal before December.
According to the spokesperson, all the old airplanes, which have exhausted their resources, have been taken out. Mr. Shadiev said: “Parking areas are being freed, because there will be a lot of planes during the Summit, and they will be large Boeings.” He also added that the normal passenger flights will not be cancelled during the SCO Summit.
