DUSHANBE, September 8, 2014, Asia-Plus -- The government intends to apply to the parliament to exempt equipment delivered to the country for construction of a five-star Ismoili Somoni Hotel in Dushanbe from payment of customs duties and value added tax (VAT).
“A total amount of customs duties and VAT on the equipment that is being delivered to the country for construction of Ismoili Somoni Hotel is 7.627 million somoni,” Safarali Gulov, the deputy head of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Finance and Economy, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, the President’s Executive Office has made an order for construction of Ismoili Somoni Hotel on Roudaki Avenue in Dushanbe. Construction of the hotel is expected to cost Tajikistan at some 37 million somoni.
