DUSHANBE, September 18, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Over the first seven months of these year, 3.389 billion somoni (equivalent to 697.8 USD) have been invested in the fixed capital in Tajikistan, which is 25.5 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT).

Over the report period, 1.7294 billion somoni (equivalent to 356.6 million USD), or 51 percent of investments, have been drawn for development of manufacturing facilities and 1.6597 billion somoni (equivalent to 342.2 million USD), or 49 percent of investments, have been drawn for development of nonproduction facilities, the source said.

607.9 million somoni (equivalent to 125.2 million USD) has been invested in construction of hydropower facilities, which is reportedly 133.2 percent of the 2013 level.

According to the MEDT, 45.2 percent of investments have gone into the public sector and 27.9 percent of investments have gone into the private sector.
