DUSHANBE, September 22, 2014, Asia-Plus -- The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has lowered the potato and cotton forecasts for this year.
The ministry has published the preliminary data on harvesting agricultural crops in the country in 2014.
The grain forecast has remained at the same level – 1.2108 million tons of cereals, including 813,800 tons of wheat, while the cotton and potato forecasts have been lowered.
The potato production is expected to total 902,900 tons and the cotton production is expected total 366,000 tons.
Specialists from a MoA expect the vegetable and fruit productions to total 389,200 and 340,000 tons respectively this year.
The grate production is expected to total 180,000 tons, meat production – 167,500 tons, milk production – 820,000 tons, honey production – 3,600 tons, fish production – 1,700 tons, and egg production – 350.8 million pieces.
