DUSHANBE, October 15, 2014, Asia-Plus – In January-September 2014, Tajikistan has produced a total of more than 7 billion somoni (equivalent to some 1.4 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to the same period of the last year the index of the volume of production of industrial goods has amounted to 105.6 percent.

Processing industry has reportedly accounted for 63 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced over the first eight months of this year, enterprises producing and distributing electrical power, natural gas and water have accounted for 22.3 percent and mining industry has accounted for 14.7 percent.

Of 1,143 industrial enterprises registered in the country 184 enterprises have not been in operation over the report period. 

Of the 90 basic types of industrial products the output of 41 has increased in January-September this year, and the output of 38 items has decreased over the same nine-month period.  Eleven basic types of industrial products have not been manufactured over the report period.
