DUSHANBE, October 17, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Over the first nine months of this year, Tajikistan has imported some 440,000 tons of oil products, which is more than 60 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

In January-September last year, Tajikistan imported 273,000 tons of oil products.

Last month, Tajikistan reportedly imported some 45,000 tons of oil products.

Russia now provides the bulk of Tajikistan’s fuel imports.  In September-January this year, Russia has accounted for some 90 percent of Tajikistan’s oil product imports.

Besides, inconsiderable volumes of oil products have been delivered to Tajikistan over the same nine-month period from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Kyrgyzstan.
