DUSHANBE, October 18, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s power holding, Barqi Tojik, says that total electricity generation in September 2014 was more than 1.3 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), or 45.2 million kWh per day, which was 8.3 percent fewer than in August.

In August, Tajik power plants generated 49.3 million kWh of electricity per day.

Electricity generation in September was reportedly 12.6 million kWh less compared to the same period of the last year.  This is due to a reduction of electricity consumption of the Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO), Barqi Tojik specialists say.

Meanwhile, total electricity consumption in September 2014 reportedly reached 1.129 billion kWh, 12.3 percent less compared to August 2014.

In September 2014 electricity consumption was 96 million kWh less than in September 2013.

In September 2014 the 220 kW and 110 kW networks from Sangtuda-1 and Sangtuda-2 hydroelectric power plants (HPP) reportedly transmitted 175.5.4 million kWh of electricity to Afghanistan, 36.3 million kWh more than in the same period of the previous year and 12.9 percent of the total amount of electricity generated in Tajikistan.
