DUSHANBE, November 27, 2014, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmon, who is also Chairman of the Government of Tajikistan, has issued a decree to write off tax debts of Tajik state railway company, Tajik Railways.
By president’s decree issued on October 14, 2014 Tajik Railway’s debts for the value added tax (VAT) and customs duties as well as interest on them will be written off.
Based on Article 14 of the Constitutional Law “On the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan,” the decree reportedly aims to provide financial support, improve the financial and economic situation of Tajik Railways, and ensure further development of the country’s transportation sector.
