Sixty-two countries of the world provided about 56 million U.S. dollars’ worth of nearly 23,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Over the reporting period, among donors countries the greatest share reportedly came from China – 37.3 percent; Russia – 8.5 percent; Uzbekistan and Turkey – 7.6 percent each; the Netherlands – 7.3 percent; Kazakhstan – 3.3 percent; India – 2.6 percent; South Korea – 2.5 percent; Denmark – 2.3 percent; the united States and Belgium – 1.4 percent each; Germany and Finland – 1.2 percent each; Switzerland – 0.9 percent; and others.  

Over the past decade, China has been one of major trading partners of Tajikistan.  China is Tajikistan's largest source of investment and the third largest trading partner of Tajikistan following Russia and Kazakhstan.  Over the past decade, China's direct investment in Tajikistan has totalled about 1 billion U.S. dollars.
