A large delegation of Uzbek businesspeople representing all regions and large cities of Uzbekistan is arriving in Dushanbe today, a source within the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the delegation comprises more than 150 people and a Tajik-Uzbek business forum will take place at the Dushanbe Hyatt Regency Hotel on tomorrow, June 1.  

The forum participants will discuss ways to boost economic cooperation between the two countries and the issues related to implementation of a number of joint projects.  

The parties are expected to sign a number of cooperation documents. 

Recall, co-chaired by Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda and his Uzbek counterpart Abdulla Aripov, a session of the Tajik-Uzbek Joint Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in the Uzbek capital on May 14-15. 

The parties reportedly discussed issues related to further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields, of agriculture, energy, investment and transportation.  They also discussed ways to increase the bilateral trade to 1 billion U.S. dollars. 

The session ended with signing of a protocol reflecting the reached agreements and the priorities of bilateral economic cooperation.
