Chinese company has been selected to rehabilitation the Hulbuk-Temurmalik-Kangurt highway in Khatlon province.
Tajik Minister of Transport, Mr. Azim Ibrohim, and representative of China State Construction Xinjiang Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd, Mr. Ma Yowung, signed an agreement on this subject here on August 30, according to the Ministry of Transport (MoT) press center.
During the document-signing ceremony, Azim Ibrohim reportedly expressed confidence that the Chinese company would implement the project on time and at the high level.
ADB has awarded a US$67.49 million grnt for rehabilitation of the Hulbuk-Temurmalik-Kangurt road and the Tajik government's contribution to the project amounts to 28.1 million U.S. dollars.
China State Construction Xinjiang Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. engages in the prospecting and design, constructing, construction scientific research, equipment installation, road and bridge, industry production, and water conservancy businesses.
The company also engages in the businesses of electric power, real estate development, decoration and upholstering, engineering supervision, and firefighting.
Founded in 1950, the company is based in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in the far northwest of China. Since March 31, 2012, China State Construction Xinjiang Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. has operated as a subsidiary of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited.
