Organized by the Dushanbe Administrate, the State Committee on Investment and State-run Property Management under the Government of Tajikistan (GosKomInvest), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan (CCI) and relevant ministries and agencies, the Dushanbe-Invest 2021 International Forum will take place at the National Library of Tajikistan in Dushanbe on October 14.

The main objective of the forum is reportedly in supporting the export potential of local entrepreneurs, attracting investments, and facilitating the import of state-of-the-art technologies.  

The Forum will focus on the following topics: the digitalization of Tajik economy; the promotion of the green economy in the country; and the development of the national economy during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bilateral B2B meetings involving entrepreneurs and investors will also take place on the sidelines of the Forum.

The forum will coincide with the Entrepreneurs’ Day, which is marked in Tajikistan on October 14.

According to data from the State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Tajikistan, 661,600 economic entities have been registered in Tajikistan as of July 1, 2021, including 48,700 legal entities (companies and enterprises) and 612,,800 physical entities (individual entrepreneurs). 

Compared to the same period of last year, the number of economic entities has risen 6.2 percent in Tajikistan. 

Over the first six months of this year, more than 13,800 economic entities, including 533 legal entities and 13,300 individual entrepreneurs, have stopped operating in Tajikistan.

As of July 1, 2021, the share of operating economic entities in a total number of registered economic entities in Tajikistan has amounted to only 52.1 percent – 346,500 entities. 

About a third of the total number of entrepreneurs operate in Khatlon province, 23.2 percent in Sughd province, 17.5 percent in districts subordinate to the center (RRP), 13.5 percent in Dushanbe, and 1.8 percent in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
