On Wednesday February 9, Resident Representative of Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), Mr. Qozidavlat Qoimdodov, met here with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Mr. Toshihiro Aiki, according to the AKDN Resident Office in Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties reportedly discussed cooperation between Japanese Government through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the AKDN in education, health, and agriculture sectors.
It was point out that the collaboration of AKDN and JICA for many years has been productive and fruitful for the development of Tajik people.
In 2020-2021, with the partnership of Japanese Embassy in Dushanbe, the AKDN through its agencies has constructed Health Center in Pitob village of Shugnan district, Health Centre in Bajuw village of Rushan district, and Health Center in Darwaz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), Tajikistan.
In 2022 some of joint projects will be implemented in the field of agribusiness.
At the end, the parties have reportedly expressed their willingness for further cooperation.
AKDN and its agencies focus on empowering and improving the lives of people in developing countries.
AKDN programs are aimed at the well-being of all people, regardless of race, nationality or religion.
