A high-ranking Tajik delegation visited led by the Frist Deputy Prime Minister Davlatali Said paid a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany last week (November 21-15).

The Tajik MFA information department says the delegation visited the cities of Berlin, Hamburg and Lübeck to hold intergovernmental negotiations and participate in Tajikistan - Germany business forum.

The delegation members reportedly included heads of relevant ministries and agencies, senior representatives of state-run and commercial banks, the private sector, as well as domestic entrepreneurs.

During the visit to Berlin, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan held bilateral meetings with the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection (BMWK), the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS).

To discuss the current state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation, Davlatali Said reportedly met with the Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, Michael Harms.

The roundtable to discuss the topic of mineral resources in Tajikistan was held in Berlin.  Speaking at the meeting, Tajik Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir reportedly drew the attention of the audience to the rich natural mineral and non-mineral resources of the country.  He invited German investors to cooperate with Tajikistan to effectively use these opportunities.

Besides, presided over by the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) Hokim Kholiqzoda, a roundtable was held at the Association of German Banks to discuss the issue of establishing interbank cooperation.

Following the meeting, NBT head and senior representatives of Tajik commercial banks met with representatives of prestigious German banks, according to the Tajik MFA information department.  

On the evening of November 21, an official reception in honor of the visit of the official delegation of Tajikistan with the participation of prestigious German companies was held by the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.

On November 22, the Tajikistan - Germany business forum was held in the port city of Hamburg with the participation of more than 65 influential German and European companies and 40 representatives of the domestic private sector.  This event was reportedly held at the initiative of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Berlin jointly with the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.  A wide range of Tajik and German businessmen and officials from various structures of the two countries participated in the forum.  

The Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan Sadi Qodirzoda presented the economic and commercial, hydropower, logistics, investment, and tourism opportunities of the country.  Entrepreneurs were provided with the necessary information about the investment climate in Tajikistan, projects, business support measures, as well as the benefits offered by the Government of the country.

As a result of the business forum, the Tajik side reportedly signed agreements and memorandums worth more than 600 million euros with German and European companies on cooperation in the fields of industry, processing of minerals and the introduction of modern technologies to create new manufacturing enterprises.

Following the official part of the conference, the forum participants held bilateral meetings in the B2B format, where they exchanged views on key issues, including the state of trade and economic potential and prospects for the development and implementation of direct cooperation.

To expand cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, as well as to attract more German capital to the fields of the national economy the parties agreed to hold the next Tajikistan-Germany Forum in the first half of 2023.

A high-ranking delegation of Tajikistan was reportedly received by the leadership of the Senate of Hamburg. During the conversation, the sides expressed interest in strengthening further economic and trade cooperation between Tajikistan and the Federal Land of Hamburg.

In honor of the visit of a high-ranking economic delegation of the country to this region, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Davlatali Said and the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Germany Imomudin Sattorov were received by the President of the city of Lübeck Klaus Pushaddel and its mayor Jan Lindenau.

During the trip, the delegation visited the largest production facilities of “Baader Group” (world-wide manufacturer of innovative machinery for the food processing industry) and “Dräger” (an international leader in the fields of medical and safety technology), located in city of Lübeck, federal province of Schleswig-Holstein, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
