Tajikistan and China have signed an agreement on launching a new flight path between the two countries.

The press center of the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Tajikaeronavigatsiya (Tajik Air Navigation) says the document on this subject was inked in Dushanbe on December 5 by Loiq Begijonzoda, Director-General of the SUE Tajikaeronavigatsiya, and Liu Wenci, Director General of the Xinjiang Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB).

An official source within the SUE Tajikaeronavigatsiya says the flight path will run over the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous region, or GBAO, and that is why it is called POMIR-SHENCHE.

It is noted that the new air corridor will provide an opportunity to not only increase the number of flights between the two countries but also create a reliable basis for the development of international air services with other countries of the world.

The agreement was reportedly signed on the margins of the 4th coordination meeting of Tajikaeronavigatsiya and Xinjiang’s ATMB that took place at the National Library of the Republic of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.
