Six killed, 22 injured in Shahriston accident

Six people have been killed and at least 22 others have been injured in Shahriston traffic accident.
KONIBODOM, June 28, Asia-Plus -- Six persons were killed and at least 22 others were injured Monday [June 26] night as a bus with some 30 schoolchildren on board turned over, according to information from the Konibodom traffic police directorate.
The accident took place at about
11:00 p.m.
on the Shahriston-Khujand highway, some 200 kilometers of Konibodom.
Some 30 leavers from School No. 13 in the northern city of
Konibodom
(Sughd province) with two teachers decided to make tour of the Shahriston district (Sughd province). When they were coming back from the excursion, the bus appeared to have turned over. Five schoolchildren and one teacher died on the spot and at least 22 other schoolchildren received various wounds and were taken to the central district in Shahriston. Four of them are currently in serious condition.
A special commission comprising representatives from the republican and regional traffic police worked on the scene to investigate what could cause the accident. According to the preliminary investigation, the bus’ brake broke down.
