DUSHANBE, May 21, Asia-Plus – On Sunday May 20, a suicide bomber killed at least 10 civilians and injured some 30 others at the town of Gardez in the southeast of Afghanistan.

Afghan law enforcement authorities suppose that the bomber targeted a US convoy that was passing through the city.  Representatives from international coalition confirmed that several servicemen had been wounded.  However, they refrained from giving further details.  

The Taliban Movement has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast.  Representatives from the Taliban Movement warned the Afghan authorities that number of such attacks will be increasing.  

In the meantime, BBC says that there has been a dramatic increase in the number of suicide attacks and bombings in the country in the past few days.   On Saturday, three German soldiers were among nine people killed in a suicide bomb attack in the relatively peaceful north of the country, in Kunduz, according to BBC.
