DUSHANBE, June 26, Asia-Plus -- The 22nd two-day session of the CIS Interstate Council for Emergencies Caused by Natural Phenomena and Industrial Activities will open in Dushanbe on June 27.
According to press release issued by the CIS Executive Committee, more than 20 issues have been tabled to the session’s agenda.
The session is aiming to discuss the concept for further development of the CIS and the interstate targeted program for development of the CIS corps for mitigating effects of natural and man-made disasters, designed for the period till 2010.
The meeting participants are also expected to consider proposals on creation of body for management of the CIS emergency corps and discuss amendments to the regulations on the CIS agency for forecasting and monitoring emergency situations and main directions of its activities till 2010, etc.
