DUSHANBE, February 25, 2009, Asia-Plus -- New details emerged on today’s attack on one of the Eskhata bank outlets to offer money transfer services in Qurghon Teppa.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), two unidentified armed persons burst into the money transfer outlet of Eskhata Bank’s branch in Qurghon Teppa today at around 12:00 and seized some 3,000 US dollars and nearly 100,000 Russian Rubles (RR).
Assailants managed to escape; fortunately, no injured was reported, the source said. Police cordoned off the site and the search operation to arrest the assailants is under way.
