DUSHANBE, January 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- A fire has damaged building of Russian Drama Theatre named after Vladimir Mayakovsky in Dushanbe.
According to the main fire department within the Ministry of Interior (MoI), a space of 250 square meters was enveloped in the fire that broke out today early in the morning, at 3:36 am.
“Eight firefighting crews, totaling 65 firemen, were sent to the fire site,” said the source, “They managed to localize the fire in 20 minutes.”
According to some sources, the costume-making workshop of the theatre was destroyed completely.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
