KHOROG, August 30, 2010, Asia-Plus, Asia-Plus -- Seven people were killed on August 28 as a vehicle fell into the Panj River in Gorno Badakhshan.
The accident took place in the Kufob area, not far from the village of Zighar in Darvoz district, Gorno Badakhshan. “The vehicle belonging to the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Tajikistan and driven by Davlatmamad Bodurov fell into the Panj River,” said Mizrob Dorobov, an officers from the GBAO police directorate, “The driver and all his six passengers were killed.”
The body of one of passengers has been found so far and a search operation is going on, Dorobov said.
It is already the third traffic accident on the Dushanbe-Khorog highway this month. 21 persons were killed in those three accidents.
