DUSHANBE, May 16, 2011, Asia-Plus – Another earthquake was felt in Tajikistan Sunday morning.

A tremor measuring 4.0 on a 12-point scale jolted the Tajik capital in the early hours of Sunday, at 2:07 am, according to the Dushanbe seismological station.

Centered in Afghanistan, 280 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe, the quake could be felt in some other regions of the country as well.

In Shahritous and Rasht districts, the earthquake’s magnitude was 3.0-4.0 and in Khorog, 2.0.  The station reported a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale in the epicenter.

We will recall that a mild tremor measuring 2.0-3.0 on a 12-point scale jolted Dushanbe in the early hours of Saturday morning, at 2:29 am.  Centered in Afghan territory, some 290 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe, the tremor could be felt in some other regions of Tajikistan as well, the source said adding that no damage or injured was reported.
