KHUJAND, June 29, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Four persons were killed on June 28 as a car fell over precipice into a river in Sughd province.
According to the Sughd police directorate, the accident took place in Kuhistoni Mastchoh district Wednesday afternoon. “The driver apparently failed to control his VAZ-2121 and it fell into the Zarafshon River.” The driver survived, while his four passengers, including two minors, were killed in the accident.
Fakhriddin Avazzod, a spokesman for the Sughd police directorate, says 134 traffic accidents that have been registered in the province since the beginning of this year killed 68 people, leaving 128 injured.
