KHUJAND, July 26, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Two persons were killed on July 25 as a rock fall occurred in Shahriston district, Sughd province.
According to the Sughd police directorate, the accident took place Monday afternoon on the Shahriston Pass, 154th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak highway.
“Rustam Shoyev from Khatlon’s Kulob district probably lost control of his heavy truck KAMAZ when the rock fall occurred and it fell over a 200-meter precipice,” said the source, “The driver and his passenger – 31-year-old resident of Kulob district Olim Jalilov – died on the spot.”
