KHUJAND, September 6, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Four persons were killed and one other was injured on the night of September 5-6 as an economy car crashed into a truck in the northern Sughd province.
According to the Sughd traffic police department, the accident took place in the Poshkent Jamoat, Istaravshan district. “Resident of Panjakent district, Qamaraddin Khojamberdiyev, 44, lost control of his mini car Tico and it crashed into the truck ZIL parked at the roadside,” said the source. “As a result of the accident, four passengers of Tico, including one minor, died on the spot and the driver sustained various injuries and was taken to the Istaravshan central district hospital.”
According to the statistical data from the Sughd traffic police department, 190 traffic accidents have been registered in northern Tajikistan over the first seven months of this year; 84 people have been killed and 198 others have been injured in those accidents.
