DUSHANBE, September 27, 2011, Asia-Plus -- 998 traffic accidents have been reported in Tajikistan since the beginning of this year, Muhammadjon Nazriyev, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry traffic police directorate, told Asia-Plus today.
According to him, 325 people have been killed and 1,146 other people have been injured in those accidents.
“Compared to the same period last year, the number of accidents has decreased by 102 cases, while the number of people killed in the accidents has increased by 42,” the spokesman said.
Three traffic accidents were reported in the country yesterday; one person was killed and at least two others were injured in those accidents.
