Two persons were killed on September 10 as a vehicle fell into a river in Darvoz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), according to the Interior Ministry’s website.
The accident took place near the Zighar-Yakhchsor village in the night, at around 10:20 pm.
The driver apparently lost control of his Shackman and the vehicle fell into the Panj River. The driver and his passenger (both of them are residents of GBAO’s Vanj district) drowned.
The cause of the accident is under investigation and the search operation to find their bodies is under way, the Interior Ministry’s website says.
