Negotiations between Tajik and Kyrgyz delegations on border issues in the Bahor mahalla of the Tajik village of Ovchi-Qalacha have concluded today morning. The negotiations began at 7:30 am and concluded at 10:15 fm.
Under the preliminary results of the negotiations, the Kyrgyz side will demolish its lookout tower while the Tajik side will not build its lookout tower.
Besides, the sides agreed to withdraw additional forces and military equipment from the area until 6:00 pm today, an official source at the Sughd law enforcement authorities told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Recall, the premiers of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan met yesterday evening at the border crossing point (BCP) Guliston-Qyzylbel to discuss discussed joint measures to deescalate the situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border in connection with deadly clash that broke out on the mutual border on September 16. They also ordered relevant delegations of the two countries to continue a joint work today on the ground in order to speed up the resolution of issues raised.
Meanwhile, life in Ovchi-Qalacha itself goes on, although yesterday almost everything there was closed and did not work.
