Three persons were killed and two others injured on January 22 as a car fell over a 40-meter precipice in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), according to the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan. 

The accident reportedly took place in the afternoon in GBAO’s Darvoz district.  The driver lost control of his Land Cruiser and it fell over the 40-meter precipice, the Emergencies Committee said.

As a result of the accident, the driver and his two passengers were killed on the spot while two other passengers sustained various injuries and were taken to the Kulob city hospital in Khatlon province, according to the Emergencies Committee.
