KHUJAND, February 2, Asia-Plus -- Another alleged activist of the outlawed religious extremist “Hizb ut-Tahrir” party has been detained in Khujand, capital of Sughd Province, according to information from the Sughd police directorate.
The source says the 26-year-old Abduahad Jabborov was arrested on suspicion of having been member of the Hizb ut-Tahrir in an operation carried out by officers of the Sughd criminal investigation division and the Interior Ministry department on internal security for Sughd.
“According to the results of the preliminary investigation, Abduahad Jabborov has been active member of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” party since April 2005 and he has been engaged in disseminating the party’s ideas and spreading its leaflets,” the source said noting that the investigation is under way.
