KONIBODOM, April 18, Asia-Plus -- Inspections by Konibodom prosecutors have recorded numerous instances of gross violation of the country’s land legislation such as illegal occupation of land, unauthorized housing, untargeted use of land, etc.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Firdavs Hasanov, a chief aide to the Konibodom prosecutor, said that inspections, conducted in all six jamoats of the district, have revealed that there is no proper control of land use in the district.
According to him, 26 illegal decisions made by heads of a number of local jamoats on allotting lands for housing were annulled last year following applications by the prosecutor’s office.
Hasanov noted that criminal proceedings had been instituted against Ergash Mamadjonov, the head of the dehqan (peasant) farm Yakkaterak, who faces charge of abuse of office.
“In 2005-2007, Mamadjonov allotted three hectares of farm’s land to 46 local residents, and they paid him $2,000 each,” said the chief aid. “Of 252,000 somonis received from them, he paid to the farm’s office only 91,140 somonis, while the remaining some 160,000 somonis were misappropriated by him.”
