KHUJAND, April 23, Asia-Plus - 51 corruption-related crimes have been detected in the Sughd province over the first three months of this year, the Sughd anticorruption directorate chief Millopar Bandishoyev announced at a press conference in Khujand on April 22.
According to him, a total damage caused by those crimes to the region’s economy has mounted to 10,545,391 somonis. Of this amount, 561,530 somonis have to date been reimbursed.
Mr. Bandishoyev noted formal charges of bribe giving, embezzlement, abuse of office, fraud, and tax evasion have been brought against 69 local officials, including law enforcement officers, heads of organizations and enterprises.
