QURGHON TEPPA, June 4, Asia-Plus -- Since the beginning of the year, a prosecutor’s office in Khatlon’s Borkhtar district has instituted 11 criminal proceedings on charges of unauthorized use of lands.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Sohibnazaro Quvvatov, a chief aide to the Bokhtar prosecutor, said that five criminal proceedings had been instituted against local officials, including heads of jamoats and farming units as well as land managers.
“Investigation into six proceedings has been completed and the cases have moved to courts,” the chief aid said, adding that five statements of claim for a total amount of 105,602 somonis had also been sent to courts.
According to him, a number of residents have been fine a total of 11,000 somonis for untargeted use of lands.
Since the beginning of the year, the Bokhtar prosecutor’s office has protested 100 illegal decisions of the district chairman, heads of jamoats and farming units related to allotment of lands.
