DUHANBE, June 3, 2015, Asia-Plus – Dushanbe resident Parviz Shamsiyev, 22, has reportedly been detained in the United States at the request of Tajik authorities.
According to some media outlets, Shamsiyev has swindled his fellow countryman out of 600,000 U.S. dollars.
Parviz Shamsiyev was reportedly arrested in the State of Virginia by the Interpol last week. His father, Alisher Shamsiyev, 50, is also wanted by Tajik authorities. Both of them are internationally wanted.
According to the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan, Parviz Shamsiyev and Alisher Shamsiyev are suspected of swindling Dushanbe resident Muzaffar Saymuddinov, 50, out of 600,000 U.S. dollars.
They reportedly promised him to open a bank account for him but they did not deliver what they promised and embezzled the funds.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and both of them have been declared wanted by police.
