DUSHANBE, May 18, 2016, Asia-Plus – Resident of the Murgab district in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) has been detained on suspicion of trafficking in gemstones.
The Interior Ministry’s reports a 32-year-old of GBAO''s Murgab district was detained in the Chamantali area on May 17 on suspicion of trafficking in precious stones.
5.480 kilograms of ruby stones have reportedly been confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged gemstone dealer and an investigation is under ways.
