DUSHANBE, June 21, 2016, Asia-Plus – A young woman from the northern city of Panjakent has been detained for selling her newborn daughter.
The Interior Ministry’s website reports that a 25-year-old woman from Panjakent was detained on June 19 on suspicion of selling her newborn daughter to a 44-year-old woman for 2,000 somoni.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against her and an investigation is under way.
