In appeals instance three judges considered Tajik athlete guilty of premeditated crime and increased his period for more than six years.

On 30 August the appeal instance of Chelyabinsk regional court increased his sentence to the native of Tajikistan, athlete Komil Jamilov, which dealt a fatal blow to the fan of the ice-hockey team "Tractor" Vitaly Spiridonov, reported Russian media.

Instead of the previously assigned 3.8 years in a penal colony, he was given 10 years in a strict regime colony. Jamilov will also have to pay the family of a deceased man more than a million rubles, informed the head of the press-services of regional court Eugenia Nazievskaya.

Regional court overturned the verdict of the Central regional court of the 1st of June this year, when Jamilov was found guilty of causing death by negligence (part 1 of article 109 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation) and causing of average weight of harm to health, dangerous for human life, but which caused a lasting health disorder, committed against two persons (paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 112 of the criminal code).

"Regional court has made a new guilty verdict today and the actions of Jamilov under part 1 of article 109 of the criminal code were reclassified under part 4 of article 111 of the criminal code of Russian Federation (deliberate causing of heavy harm to health, entailed on imprudence death of the victim)" - voiced Nazievskaya, adding that qualification in the second article left unchanged.

Compensation for moral damage, indicated by the district court in one million rubles, Spiridonov’s family has not appealed. Relatives insisted only on the stiffening of penalties.
