Two nationals of Tajikistan – Ejod Nosirov and Alisher Nouriddinov -- have got lengthy jail terms for killing Russian businessman and wounding his wife.  They reportedly received one million Russian rubles for that contract killing committed in Russia two years ago.

The Supreme Court of Tajikistan has sentenced Ejod Nosirov and Alisher Nouriddinov to 25 and 15 years in prison respectively.  They will serve their terms in a high-security penal colony.

On March 23, 2016, they shot to death businessman Marat Kuptsov and wounded his wife in the Russian city of Oktyabrsk (Republic of Bashkortostan), according to the press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Tajikistan.

Nosirov and Nouriddinov were reportedly detained in Dushanbe last fall.  In July last year, Ejod Nosirov threatened to kill a Dushanbe resident.  Nosirov and Nouriddinov were found guilty of killing, illegally bearing, possessing and acquiring weapons, inflicting serious bodily injury and murder threat, the Prosecutor-General’s Office press center said.

Meanwhile, Russian media reports earlier said that the hit had been ordered by the former daughter-in-law of the businessman who had not wanted to repay a large debt to the businessman.
