DUSHANBE, May 20, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi met with Saudi Ambassador to Tajikistan Bandar Mohammad Jameel Ahmad Mahmoud on May 19.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as cooperation between the two nations within regional and international organizations.
In the course of the talks, Ambassador Bandar Mohammad Jameel Ahmad Mahmoud informed of activities the Saudi Red Crescent Society and the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) in Tajikistan and the possibility of launching an air route between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia, the source said.
Tajik Minister and Saudi diplomat reportedly also exchanged views on events that have taken place in North Africa and the Middle East in recent months.
