DUSHANBE, July 26, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On Monday July 25, Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi met here with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek, the Tajik MFA information department reports.
In the course of the talks, Hamrokhon Zirifi expressed condolences to the government and the people of Norway over Friday’s twin terrorist attacks
According to international media outlets, 76 people were killed in the massacre at an island youth camp and bombing in Oslo.
During the meeting, Zarifi briefed Mr. Vollebaek on ethnic issues and ethnic policy in Tajikistan. The sides also exchanged views on cooperation between Tajikistan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe as well as further development of regional cooperation in Central Asia, the source said.
Created on July 8, 1992 by the Helsinki Summit Meeting of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, the High Commissioner on National Minorities is charged with identifying and seeking early resolution of ethnic tension that might endanger peace, stability or friendly relations between participating states of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
