DUSHANBE, September 1, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On Thursday September 1, President Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of congratulations to his Uzbek counterpart Islam Karimov on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence.
According to the Uzbek Embassy in Dushanbe, in his message, the Tajik head of state, in particular, noted that Tajikistan attached significance to the historically-established traditions of friendship and ties of neighborliness between the two nations and the two peoples.
Tajik president also congratulated his Uzbek counterpart on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, the source said.
